She also plans to touch on UNA-USA’s role in helping Americans engage with the work of the UN and connect global issues to local communities. \nLearn more about the UNA-USA Maine Chapter. \nAbout the Speaker:  \nMadison Peak is the Senior Associate for Community Engagement at the United Nations Association of the USA (UNA-USA) in New York\, New York. In this role\, she supports UNA-USA’s nationwide grassroots network and champions civic engagement in support of the United Nations and its mission. Previously\, Madison worked as a Program Associate for the International Republican Institute’s Women’s Democracy Network (WDN)\, where she supported a global portfolio focused on Women\, Peace and Security and women’s political empowerment\, funded by the National Endowment for Democracy. \nMadison received her Master of Arts in International Affairs with a specialization in diplomacy from Boston University’s Pardee School of Global Studies in 2023\, where she wrote her thesis on the historical successes and failures of international institutions in advancing the rights of women. She earned concurrent bachelor’s degrees in political science and global studies from Arizona State University’s School of Politics and Global Studies in 2021. \n\nThis event is free and open to the public\, but registration is required. OceanView will provide light snacks and beverages. \nThis showing is from the 1975 filmed production featuring the Bavarian State Orchestra\, conducted by Wolfgang Sawallisch.
