Treasures in the Attic – Thursday, May 9, 2024

Come get some of your valuables appraised by Kaja Vellieux, owner of Thomaston Place Auction Galleries.

Several residents of Oceanview, Marion H, Bonnie Y, Nancy E-B, Gloria O and Judy H, are members of Portland Chapter D of the national women’s organization P.E.O., whose fundraising activities go to projects supporting women to pursue further education. https://www.peointernational.org/educational-support/ (If you know of a deserving woman who could use one of our scholarships, please tell us as well, and tell her about this link.)

Come join us at the Yarmouth Community Center on Cousins Island on Thursday, May 9, 2024 from 1:00 – 3:00 for this year’s entertaining and informative fundraising event. Enjoy a unique experience and support the P.E.O. projects.

Kaja Vellieux, owner of Thomaston Place Auction Galleries in Thomaston, will provide you with a written appraisal of your curiosities, treasures, and antiques. And you’ll learn about the items you and P.E.O. sisters have brought.

Kaja will start at 1:00; you need to arrive by 12:45 so that your treasures can be on display for his perusal. For $35, payable at the door, you may bring up to 5 items.

You can ask Bonnie for more information (bonnie.yelverton@gmail.com / 909-229-7294) We may be able to arrange carpooling as well.

To reserve one of the 30 spots, please send an email to: peochapterdme@gmail.com, telling us how many items you plan to bring.

Refreshments will be provided.

The Yarmouth Community Center is at 422 Cousins Street, Cousins Island, Yarmouth. YCC is a white clapboard building on the left, 1.5 miles beyond the bridge; it is the first building after the chapel.

Would the person who made the stellar potato salad for last night’s potluck dinner be willing to share the recipe? From Saturday, 2/24/24. Best I’ve ever had!

Thank you,
