OceanView invited Habitat for Humanity to our campus to strip all usable materials from ten cottages that will be taken down to make room for the new Blueberry Commons expansion. Kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, sinks, doors and 80+ windows were taken by a team of Habitat volunteers to help with their construction programs.

A water boiler and all baseboard heaters were also offered to the Falmouth Heritage Museum, which currently does not have heat.

Built in the mid-80’s, the cottages were part of the original OceanView campus but will be torn down to allow for the groundbreaking of Blueberry Commons. A 36-apartment expansion, Blueberry Commons will consist of three inter-connected buildings, all attached via temperature-controlled connectors to the existing Lodge buildings, allowing indoor access in all weather to the Screening Room, Fitness Studio, Game Room, Main Dining Room, Gazebo Grille Cafe, Library and other programs and amenties.

The Blueberry Commons addition will feature luxury corner apartments between 1,000 and 1,800 square feet with gas fireplaces, balconies, customized decor and underground parking. The new development will also include a large, 150-person Commons Room and a third-floor glass Skywalk for all residents to enjoy the spectacular views of Casco Bay to the south and east!
