MID 1980s
Planning Begins.
Our campus is located minutes from Portland on 80 acres of beautifully wooded and landscaped property that overlooks Casco Bay and the Presumpscot River Estuary. With a proud 35+ year history of combining nature, environmental sustainability, active and carefree living with peace of mind for the future, OceanView is retirement living for the 21st century.
OceanView was created under the vision of its founder John Wasileski. A Maine resident, John is recognized as the pre-eminent originator of the active retirement community in the state, along with a focus on smart growth and commitment to the environment.
Our commitment to sustainability is clear. We serve locally sourced foods, use environmentally-friendly cleaning products, recycle, compost, and employ more than 40 solar energy systems on campus.
OceanView believes in the value of community with a long standing tradition of supporting local businesses, organizations and charities.
