Please join us for a showing of both Cavalleria rusticana and Pagliacci, part of the Opera Maine Film Series. This will be fourth of five showings in the film series.

Intermission: There will be an intermission after Cavalleria at about 70 minutes.
The 2015 Salzburg Easter Festival put on a lavish production of Pietro Mascagni’s Cavalleria rusticana (or Rustic Chivalry in Italian) and Ruggero Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci, two operas that are commonly performed together. Jonas Kaufmann makes his debut as both Turiddu in Cavalleria Rustico and Canio in Pagliacci. Both operas boast a strong cast.
These operas are sung in Italian with English subtitles.
