Please join us for Exploring Healthy Senior Communication with Andrew Shepard on Thursday, May 18th at 2 p.m. at the Hilltop Community Room.
The venue was previously Lunt Auditorium. It has been changed to Hilltop Community Room. For directions to Hilltop, please park outside of Blueberry Commons at 5 Marion Way, Falmouth, ME. Look for signs outside the Blueberry Commons entrance and at the corner of Blueberry Lane and Marion Way. Staff will direct you toward Hilltop from there.
Andrew Shepard (they/them) will lead this informational session and discuss services and strategies for talking with older people about healthy communication and fostering safer communities. Topics will include: the myths and facts of senior communication, the pillars of all healthy relationships, skills around consent, and an overview of elder relationship abuse and local resources/supports. This program is appropriate for family members, caregivers, older people themselves, and professionals working with seniors.
Andrew Shepard is the Director of Education and Community Engagement with Sexual Assault Response Services of Southern Maine. They have been working with SARSSM for just under two years and are dedicated to education and awareness building around violence in the Southern Maine community. Andrew graduated from Hampshire College in 2020 with a B.A. in Public Health. Outside of SARSSM, Andrew is a local theater producer and lives in Westbrook.
This program is free and open to the public. Registration is required.
Tours of Legacy Memory Care will follow the program. Tours of Falmouth House are always available by appointment.
