About the Event:
Madison’s presentation will focus on the connections between the United Nations and Maine’s economy, including how international cooperation supports trade, business opportunities, education, innovation, sustainable development, and economic resilience at the local level. She also plans to touch on UNA-USA’s role in helping Americans engage with the work of the UN and connect global issues to local communities.

About the Speaker:
Madison Peak is the Senior Associate for Community Engagement at the United Nations Association of the USA (UNA-USA) in New York, New York. In this role, she supports UNA-USA’s nationwide grassroots network and champions civic engagement in support of the United Nations and its mission. Previously, Madison worked as a Program Associate for the International Republican Institute’s Women’s Democracy Network (WDN), where she supported a global portfolio focused on Women, Peace and Security and women’s political empowerment, funded by the National Endowment for Democracy.
Madison received her Master of Arts in International Affairs with a specialization in diplomacy from Boston University’s Pardee School of Global Studies in 2023, where she wrote her thesis on the historical successes and failures of international institutions in advancing the rights of women. She earned concurrent bachelor’s degrees in political science and global studies from Arizona State University’s School of Politics and Global Studies in 2021.
