ENRICHMENT ACADEMY
OceanView residents are able to live their retirement to the fullest, pursing interests, discovering new ones, being involved in the community at whatever level they choose.
Residents have an extensive selection of activities daily on the OceanView campus, with Concierge Van Shuttle service provided for easy access. Parties include a monthly Wine ‘n Cheese to celebrate birthdays, special occasion cocktail parties and our annual Anniversary Party always makes a splash!
Welcome events to honor new residents and holiday celebrations draw crowds of friendly faces. Cottage residents host summer Block Parties and August’s Lobster Bake is a summertime favorite.
Musical Entertainment, Theater & Sports
Musical entertainment draws from the wide variety of talent within our community, Maine and beyond. We enjoy renowned classical pianists, jazz duets, country groups, and ethnic musicians, as well as folks who play the old favorites just for fun! Van transportation is available to many musical and theatrical offerings at Merrill Auditorium and other venues in the surrounding area, such as the Maine State Music Theater, Portland Symphony Orchestra, Metropolitan Opera simulcast, Portland Stage Company, Lyric Theater, and the Portland Players. We also have a dedicated group of Portland Sea Dogs baseball enthusiasts!
State-of-the-Art Screening Room
In our Screening Room, residents can recline in our theater seats, enjoy popcorn and a variety of films. We show everything from new releases to old classics, documentaries, college lecture series, including the ability to watch over 700 television channels – in digital high-definition with surround sound. Special screenings include sporting events, awards shows, musical sing-alongs and “epic movies” with lunch provided.
