From these difficult times, many acts of generosity and kindness have emerged. Various “Feed the Frontlines” programs have been implemented by restaurants, allowing them to collect donated proceeds to provide food directly to frontline workers. It has proven to be an excellent way for people to both support local area businesses, as well as show their appreciation for those who are still going in to work to provide essential services, while many are self-isolating at home. OceanView at Falmouth considers itself lucky to have been the recipient of such donations!
Woodford Food & Beverage, in Portland, sent over a bunch of their famous mouth-watering burgers to our staff at Falmouth House Assisted Living.
Rivalries, right here in Falmouth, received a donation from Nicky & Mike Frautten , a local couple, who specifically asked for meals to be delivered to OceanView! Restaurant owner, Amy Meader , personally delivered 50 delicious meals to feed staff in our independent living, assisted living, and memory care communities.
The Southern Maine Agency on Aging received contributions from individuals at neighboring Plummer Senior Living to provide meals for our Legacy Memory Care staff. The staff chose to order takeout from Ela Market and Grill, which recently opened just down the road from OceanView.
And The European Bakery, also here in Falmouth, made sure dessert wasn’t forgotten by donating big boxes of their gourmet cookies and pastries!
The entire OceanView staff would like to express their gratitude to these businesses and the community, for not only filling our tummies, but also for filling our hearts. The outpouring of kind words of support from families, friends and neighbors has helped continue to fuel us through these challenging days. We truly can’t express how much the encouragement means to us, and it will not be forgotten.
