The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® is held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, making it the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. Last Friday, our chefs went “ladle-to-ladle” for our annual Soup Challenge, where OceanView residents voted for their favorite. Last year’s winner, Chef Betsy, went on to also win the Peoples Choice Award at the Town of Falmouth’s Hot-in-a-Pot contest. Read more
All this year, the Town of Falmouth is celebrating the 300th anniversary of its incorporation with a variety of special activities and events. The commemoration has also inspired a number of “legacy projects,” one of which is “The Story of Falmouth” Traveling Exhibit. Read more
November is National Alzheimer’s Awareness month. With more than 5 million Americans currently living with the disease and someone in the US developing Alzheimer’s every 66 seconds, the need for funding for the support of treatment, care and research is critical. Read more
Last Friday OceanView celebrated its 31st anniversary with an Egyptian-themed bash! Our Blueberry Commons room was transformed into the “Valley of Kings” desert, complete with the Great Pyramids, Sphinx and King Tut’s sarcophagus. Read more
“Tableau vivants,” French for “living picture,” were popular forms of entertainment before radio, film and television. Some tableaus were used to recreate works of art on stage with props and posed, costumed actors, who did not speak or move during the display. A couple of weeks ago, OceanView residents and staff staged their own take on a tableau, calling it “Masters on Display!” Read more

Chris Ventimiglia, Executive Specialty Chef here at OceanView, was the crowd favorite this past weekend at the Shop Falmouth Chili, Chowder, Soup and Stew Cook-Off. Chef Chris’ seafood bisque received the most votes from the constant stream of event goers, besting eight other entries. Read more
