OceanView Residents Depart for Children's Museum and Theater of Maine

Now that all OceanView residents have been vaccinated against Coronavirus, we have been happy to start reopening dining, amenities, in-person fitness classes and activities, all in accordance with Maine CDC guidelines. This week we were pleased to start offering outings, starting with a special invitation from the Children’s Museum & Theater of Maine (CMTM).

OceanView Residents Tour Children's Museum and Theater of Maine

Some of our residents had a wonderful opportunity to tour the organization’s new 30,000 square foot facility on Thompson’s Point in Portland, before they open to the public this summer. CMTM’s Executive Director, Julie Butcher Pezzino, guided our residents through their three floors of new interactive exhibits, including a 100-seat theatre, a full floor dedicated to STEM learning, and exhibits celebrating the state of Maine.

OceanView Residents Enter Children's Museum and Theater of Maine

CMTM has built a community in support of healthy children and families in Southern Maine, existing to inspire discovery and imagination through exploration and play. What a fitting organization for our residents to explore on our first organized outing since the pandemic, as we all gratefully emerge from that long tunnel of isolation, looking towards a brighter future.
